Betrothed to be married since infant age, Phillip has always been destined for big things. His arranged marriage by his father King Hubert, to the daughter of rival King Stefan, was meant to bring peace and unity to the kingdoms. Cursed at her birth by the wicked fairy, Maleficent, Aurora was exiled to live a life as a peasant girl until such a day arose where it was safe to return. Being young and rebellious Phillip disapproved and set off to find a girl of his own. Encountering the beautiful Briar Rose in the forest, he arranges to meet her again. On entering her cottage he is captured by the evil Maleficent and is imprisoned in her dungeon. Released by the good fairies, Phillip escapes and goes to rescue his love from her sleeping death. Without realising it he has fallen in love with the girl he was destined to marry anyway, much to his father's joy. Brave and fearless in the face of mortal danger, Phillip over powers everything Maleficent throws at him, and proves himself to be a true hero, and a worthy future king of Stefan and Hubert's realms.
