Its a really cool vibe on Christmas Day. You will love it!
We always try to book a dining reservation for that day, somewhere around 7 seas lagoon. That way we can park at a resort for the day and take a leisurely boat ride in, instead of battling the insane crowds in the parking lots. This trip we are using the buses, which also nicely avoids the backups.
Also, (you already know this its really cool to hit the resorts the night before to see the characters in their Christmas outfits. Its always a festive atmosphere. The Resorts are a buzz with excitement and happiness. My family and I love Disney at Christmas!
ENJOY your trip!!! See you there

It's nice to say you're there, but they don't do anything special. Not unless you pay for one of the extortionate meals.

I did Christmas there back in 2012. AWESOME. Though at the start of our trip, the nights got almost as cold as the temps we were trying to get away from back home. As a bonus, that was right around that many thought the world would end and then it didn't, so it felt like a victory celebration over the Apocalypse.

Agreed, Matt. Florida can be very cold in December! And rainy. Urgh. Don't even remind me of the rain we had last year when we went in December.

Just to give a heads up to everyone that is wanting to go to Magic Kingdom on Chrismas Day, don't go that day, I went on Chrismas Day last year 2014 and it was a madhouse, they closed it down at 10:00 AM because there was 100,000 people at the park, and people were still trying to get in the parking lot but were turned away, they were sending them to the other Disney parks, I left because you could not even walk there.

I believe that last year was a Phase 1 closure on Christmas Day. The only time there has been a Phase 3 on Christmas Day in recent history was in 2010. Phase 4 is the highest and rarely ever happens. edited by DisneyDan on 10/1/2015

I lucked out- when we went, I only remember rain on one day, and then only briefly. It didn't last long. The next year's trip for Halloween was similar, in that it only rained on our last day, but in that case it lasted a bit longer.
But yeah, for anyone going in December, bring layers. The temperatures can be all over the place, from mid-30s as the low one day, to upper 80s or maybe even 90 degrees the next. I never would have expected "Gosh, I should have brought gloves to Florida" is something I'd be thinking.

I was about to say how amazing it is that Ariel can keep smiling in the cold like that, and then I remembered that she used to swim under icebergs in nothing but a pair of seashells, so the weather pictured above is nothing for her.
Seriously though- it's amazing how the characters' "friends" can do what they do when the weather ain't so good.
