According to WDWMagic, the "Up" characters are going to start making appearances at Animal Kingdom soon.

Meet them this past weekend .... GREAT interaction with US ... the lines are low .. it seemed not very popular but time will tell how this will work out ... DAK needs more characters the park seemed dead and no magic around each corner ....

While I am glad they added the Up characters (although sad we missed them by a couple weeks) there definitely is an increasing lack of characters at AK... hopefully this trend starts turning around soon :\
