Live greetings from the Disneyland Resort where I have been talking to as many cast members as I can to get the lowdown on character news from One More Disney Day. This is what I've learned:
1) There will definitely be rare characters out, but they probably won't announce where characters will be. One cast member believed that it would be like Disneyland's 50th Anniversary where you'd just happen upon the rare characters. When asked where such random encounters are most likely to occur, nobody could say for sure, but suggested Main Street and Fantasyland as possible areas to focus on. Also, the rare characters will be coming out later in the day...some say as early as late afternoon.
2) We should be prepared to see several characters in their pajamas...most likely the characters we've seen in their pajamas on Christmas Eve.
3) As the Disney Parks Blog announced, there will be special characters out at the midnight snack event at Big Thunder Mountain Ranch BBQ.
That's all I know for now, but I'll be sure to keep you up to date as soon as I get news!

I just got word from a character host that the Country Bears will be out and about on ONE MORE DISNEY DAY. Again, things can always change last minute, but, as I have yet to meet Wendell and Big Al, I look forward to seeing them!

The Disney Parks Blog just posted some more of the entertainment offerings for ONE MORE DISNEY DAY at the Disneyland Resort. They include:
- Dance party featuring KIIS DJs at Tomorrowland Terrace from 8:30 p.m. – 4 a.m.
- Second showing of Mickey’s Soundsational Parade at 10 p.m.
- Performances by Billy Hill & the Hillbillies at The Golden Horseshoe from 11:15 p.m. – 4:45 a.m.
- Special showing of “Fantasmic!” at 1 a.m.
- Character meet & greets throughout the night (subject to change):
- Mickey Mouse and friends in pajamas at Carnation Plaza Gardens
- Darth Vader and Stormtroopers in Tomorrowland
- Country Bears in Frontierland

I just spoke with a fairly reliable source who gave me a name of a very, very rare character who they've been told will be out at some point during ONE MORE DISNEY DAY at Disneyland. Before I say this name, I want to forewarn everybody that Disney can easily change things up and that this has not been officially announced. So, until things have been officially warned, nothing is certain...and, even then, it can change. So, here's the name:
OSWALD THE LUCKY RABBIT
And, yes, I will pee in my pants if it is true and I see him. 
Again, please note that everything can change last minute.

Mike, it's 6 am from February 29 to 6 am March 1. It's the big Disney event where both Disneyland and the Magic Kingdom are open for 24 hours straight for the Leap Year.

That'll be really interesting to see.
If that turns out true, then we'll be another step closer to seeing the Lucky Rabbit joining us here at WDW as well as at DL.

Unfortunately, Philip, he did not. It was actually a rather mundane group of characters and the lines were insane. I only managed to get photos with Mickey, Minnie and Donald in their pajamas and Big Al from the Country Bears. I'll be posting a report sometime in the next few days.

Sorry, all, that my report is running late for ONE MORE DISNEY DAY. Part of it is because I am still exhausted from it and the other part, I'm sad to say, is that I was underwhelmed by the characters they had out. Although, it sounds like Captain Hook had much better experiences than I did seeing some rarer characters. That's great that you, Captain Hook, got to see Suzy and Perla as well as Foulfellow and Gideon. What times were they out? I was constantly wandering around trying to find any rare characters during the day. I must have missed them every time.

Hey, Connor...I just talk to the hosts that I know. Sometimes, they don't know or they can't give out information, so you have to respect that. But, being a character person, you start developing some relationships with some of the hosts. You just have to be very respectful. I always appreciative of any information people are able to share.

Loren they were out randomly during the late afternoon but once night fell they didnt come out sadly  i talked to foulfellow backsatge he said gideon was off at pleasure island and that he didnt want to brave the crowds and im sorry to hear of your underwhelmed experience

Thanks, Captain. This must have been during the time when we took a long break and sat at River Belle. Darn! Seems odd that they would only had them out in the Late Afternoon. Poor Gideon...I kind of know how he felt. There were times I wish I was on Pleasure Island that night, too.
