The DLP Winter brochure is out and included in it is the first solid info about Halloween for this year... it isn't much; however, it does let us know there will be the Halloween Characters and Villains that have been seen in years past along with the normal Halloween celebration. There will be the normal Halloween party on the 31st; however, there will not be any Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween parties this year as expected. Halloween season will run from 1st October to 4th November this year.

Here is the info from the brochure:

Disney's Halloween Festival
1st October - 4th November 2012
Find glowing smiles for all your little ghouls and boys among the mischievous pranks of Mickey and friends. Meet 'n' Greet Disney Characters and villains in the festival filled with scarily good fun.

Disney's Halloween Party
31st October 2012
The eeriest night of the year is especially spooky with a spirited programme for families and friends

I hope they make a bit more of an effort than last year.

I would love to see Mickey's Treat in the Street re-appear but I can't see that Pumpkin coming back because of the Dreams show.

Would be nice to have 'halloweenland' back!

Last year's bunting was a bit derisory in my opinion.

I think last year was only so "half-hearted" feeling because they'd completely changed the direction they were going in the way they celebrated Halloween. They changed from tacky pumpkin-men and paint splashes all over the place to beautiful autumn-like, traditional decorations similar to those in the American parks. So year by year more decorations will be added.

I don't think the pumpkin will be an issue as you can't stand too far in to the castle stage due to fireworks restrictions, I'm sure it's about halfway across the stage is the furthest guests can stand.

But it's not about where you are standing, but how it will potentially blot dreams perhaps?

Frollo is correct, the concern is how the projections will be affected by Halloween directions either on the stage or around the Hub etc
The same goes for Christmas - how will the show be affected by the lights? That is, if they have the lights this year...

I am sure there will still be special characters/decorations and hopefully some kind of daytime show (I wouldn't be surprised if the castle stage show from last year returns) but definitely sad that MNSSHP isn't returning... especially with the 31st being mid week... makes it hard for people to make it for the party.

Oh ok, I wasn't sure what point was being made but I understand now. I'm sure the show could return without the Pumpkin this year, although I did really like the pumpkin and maybe they could recycle it and use it elsewhere.

We now hear that the Mickey's Trick or Treat in the Street will return, and there may be a daily cavalcade, to replace the post-parade that went AWOL last year.
We'll be there at the end of October for the Soiree, which we're really excited about! Big Grin

I'm there October 15th for 4 nights. So will post lots of pictures.

What do you think the daily cavalcade will involve? A mini parade with the villains?

I imagine the Cavalcade (IF it happens!) will indeed probably invlove the Villains and some regular characters dressed up (VIPs etc).
We haven't had any confirmation on this yet, so it's just a case of waiting and seeing what happens.
Incidentally, we have heard that the Halloween "theme" this year will be kinda a mix between how Tokyo does things, and the US parks.
Last year really signalled the end of the weird French way of celebrating Halloween, and saw a much more subdued, humorous take on the season. This year will amplify that, and add a few more whimsical decorations into the mix.
We really look forward to seeing it all!

Do you recon the cavalcade might involve a brightly coloured train with a few decorations and Donald dressed as a pumpkin? Haha!

Look forward to seeing it all!!

I have no idea how it might end up to be honest. They have a lot of old disused floats, so I think that there is a good chance some of those might come back.

I would really like Jack and Sally to be used more in Paris. They seem to be used a lot more throughout the other parks from what I have seen. Last year they shamefully bunged them in front of Phantom Manor with some dodgy sign. At times it was just Sally and nobody was bothered with her, we literally just walked straight up. At the same time the other villains like Hook, Jafar, QOH and Cruella were being absolutely mobbed!!

I would love to see Oogie Boogie, the Mayor and Lock, Shock and Barrel make their way in to the parks!!

Jack and Sally don't get much love anywhere to be honest. They do appear in CA at Halloween, but don't have any special area either (though at the Halloween Party they did get some coffin backdrop).
I have heard that this year their Crypt set piece will return form previous years, as DLP were unhappy also with how they were just thrown in front of the Manor last year. So I would expect they will appear up by Cowboy Cookout again, like in previous years.
I think they also appear in HKDL, but I coud be wrong. We're going HKDL at Halloween this year and cannot wait! Big Grin
Halloween is still one of the BEST times to visit though - I LOVE the Villains! So much fun! Especially the Witch and Dr Facilier!

The Dr.Facilier face character who meets at DLP actually looks like Dr.Facilier. The one in the show is not such a good likeness..

Is Dr.Facilier meeting at the park all year round or still only at Halloween??

Sadly still only at Halloween.
Governor Ratcliffe and Frollo were out the other day though, and they haven't been seen in ages, so as always, anything could happen! (Though it is a lot less likely as he is a face character).

Would love to see Ratcliffe out and about more!

We were there for 4 days at Halloween buy he wasn't out. We asked CMs at the MNSSHP and during the day and they said he wouldn't be out unfortunately.

I imagine that his friends perhaps have problems too?

Just remembered that they still have the Dreams of Power float and I remember hearing it will be back for Halloween only. Perhaps this will have something to do with the cavalcade!
