Had an amazing weekend at Disney's Hallowwen season open!! Villians were on top form, loving Hook & Jack Skeleton. I have to say the shows were also really enjoyable especially the Maleficious Halloween Party which had some pretty good elements combined to make a thoroughly entertaining show.

EPIC MICKEY 2: THE POWER OF TWO ANNOUNCED

Amz785
Amz785
FROM http://www.everybodyplays.co.uk/news/360/Disneys-Epic-Mickey-2-The-Power-Of-Two-Announced/934

There are few characters as iconic as Walt Disney's Mickey Mouse; but if you're not the most hardcore of Disney fans, you may be surprised to learn that Mickey wasn't actually Walt's first creation. Hands up if you remember a cartoon rabbit called Oscar. Anyone? Chances are you won't have herad of the poor chap - unless you've played the first Epic Mickey game on the Wii, where, as one of the main characters, he presided over the land of Wasteland, a desolate place filled with all manner of Disney's creations that have been lost in time. It was a land full of abandoned theme park attractions, rejected characters and broken down buildings for you to explore – and alter how you see fit with strategic use of your paint brush and thinner. Your paint could be used to fill in the missing bits around town, make enemies friendlier and generally do good deeds, whereas the paint thinner could be put to work to erase parts of the environment completely, destroy enemies or other nefarious uses.

And now, with some two years having passed since the first game landed on our shelves, Disney have announced that it's time for Epic Mickey to get a sequel. Latter this year, you'll be able to step into the iconic shoes of Mickey Mouse, with his now-partner Oswald in tow, and return to Wasteland in Disney's Epic Mickey 2: The Power Of Two – with, you guessed it – co-op! One player gets to be Mickey, with his staple paint brush and thinner, while the second player gets to be Oswald, who, for some reason can control electricity...

However, rather than being a straight platforming adventure like the first game, Epic Mickey 2 comes with something of an, er, unique twist. Even stranger than a rabbit with an electric personality, the game will apparently play out much like a musical. This means that at certain points in the adventure, the cast will burst out into specially written songs, and, depending on your actions in the rest of the game, the soundtrack will subtly change – probably going into minor keys if you're a bit of a baddie or something... Hopefully we're not required to sing along to the songs, seeing as our auditory assault would adversely affect our standing in Wasteland... And we wouldn't want that...

While the first Epic Mickey game was a Nintendo Wii exclusive, the sequel, Epic Mickey 2: The Power Of Two is set to appear on both the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 (with Playstation Move support) too, as well as a special not-much-is-known-about-it 3DS version too. As before, we're imagining there'll be a load of quests to complete, Disney pins to collect and plenty of platforming

Thanks for that, although I prefer the Retro and Signature range. I still don't know how I feel about being able to buy the products online. I think it's great for fans or for if you forget something while you're visiting but the fact that you can buy Disneyland Paris merchandise from home just defeats the purpose to me.

Yeah I agree, its always better to buy things as a memento of the day while you are there. Sometimes tho if you're a collector its useful to be able to buy from home if you can't get to the parks for whatever reason. Don't know if they sell the full range online, I imagine there is some stuff that is limited availability / limited to beign sold at the parks only, but i'm not sure.

My favourite has to be meeting Jack Sparrow in DL Paris last year. He is my favourite character, and when I met him last year (in my I love Pirates T-shirt), I managed to have a decent interaction with him, asking / answering questions. As there were a lot of people around it was good to be able to properly interact, and he was also really good with all the children that were waiting for autographs / photos with him. In my opinion he dealt really well with the crowds and made everyones interaction that little bit special, and thats what it should be like

Unless I am mistaken, there has never been a Lady or Tramp character in the parks.

I never realised that, thats kind of sad you'd think they would have had them there at some point bearing in mind it was quite a big film at the time it came out

maybe if the technology develops enough they could do some kind of anamatronic type thing... obv it would have to be realsitic enough and allow for interaction to make it work though

Tips & Suggestions for making the most of a Character Experience?

Amz785
Amz785
There are some really good tips on here. I especially agree with the tips in regards to wearing something with the characters on to get a reaction. If you have a favourite its good for getting a good response from them (especially if they are a face character and can chat about it with you.) Last time I went to Disneyland Paris I wore a T-shirt that had "I love pirates" on, it provoked some good responses from Hook, who kissed my hand, and led to a really good interaction with Jack Sparrow questioning who my fav pirate was (him of course, to his agreement it turns out lol)

Tigger definitely needs a makeover. I've always wondered why he seems to be luminous, would be so much better to make him more natural looking. I know he is orange but he is too neon at the moment in my opinion

and it got me thinking what characters would you like to see films made for? (Prequels or sequels)

"Disneyland Paris are offering a free ticket to everyone on their birthday this year or up to 7 days after your birthday.
This is to celebrate their 20th Birthday.
The only catch is its on their French site and all information is in french."

Might be of use to some of you... Enjoy
