Hello everyone,
Today would have been Roy O. Disney's 120th birthday!
Roy O. Disney was one of Walt's older brothers, and Walt's lifelong business partner.
Roy was responsible for the financial side of things at the Studio, and after Walt's death at the young age of 65, it was Roy who pursued with the Florida Project, and oversaw its grand opening in October 1971. It was even Roy who insisted the name of the new resort be changed from just Disney World to Walt Disney World, in honour of his brother's dream.
It is often said by those "in the know", that if it wasn't for Roy, we wouldn't have the company we have today. He kept Walt and the company in check, and ensured Walt Disney World opened without a single outstanding debt, which was quite remarkable.
The Walt Disney Company today does not forget Roy's amazing efforts, and there are tributes to Roy throughout the Disney Parks.
For this post, below I have shared some of our pictures of Disney's tributes to Roy that we have seen around the world.
Happy Birthday Roy! Thank you for your dedication to, and pursuit of Walt's ultimate dream!
Finally, outside the parks, on the real Hollywood Boulevard, Roy has his very own star.

Hello everyone,
Today is the 21st June, which means it was 25 years ago today that 'Who Framed Roger Rabbit?' first premiered at the Radio City Music Hall in New York City!
Roger Rabbit is a much beloved character by many, but sadly has not made regular appearances in the parks for quite some time. Luckily, Character Central were at a very magical event recently, and Roger Rabbit made a surprise appearance, along with none other than Jessica Rabbit and Eddie Valiant!
So, please join us in celebrating with Roger, Jessica and Eddie, and enjoy these exclusive pictures from when Roger Rabbit came out of Toon Town for one very special morning last month at DLP!
Happy 25th Birthday Roger, Jessica and Eddie!

Hello everyone,
Due to life circumstances, I missed the official premier date of Lilo and Stitch on the 16th of June (shocking I know, since Stitch is my favourite character!), but today is the day it was officially released in theatres across the US, making today its second official birthday.
Characters who have featured in the parks from the first movie include Stitch, Lilo, Captain Gantu and Dr Jumba.
So, let's celebrate with Lilo, Stitch and all the gang with our usual picture cavalcade!
Happy 11th Birthday Lilo and Stitch!

Today is the 19th of June, and on this day in 1996 Disney's animated feature The Hunchback of Notre Dame had its world premiere in New Orleans.
Also on this day in 1998, Disney's Mulan was released nationwide across the US and Canada, having premiered 9 days earlier on the 10th June.
I have been busy and forgot to post about it on the 10th, so seeing as today is its general release date, I thought it was just as appropriate to celebrate it!
So, in our usual Character Central style, here's a photo cavalcade of our favourite Disney Characters from those movies!
Happy Birthday Quasimodo and friends, and Mulan and friends!

Hello everyone,
Today is June 9th, which is Donald Duck's 79th Birthday.
First appearing in the Silly Symphony 'The Wise Little Hen' in 1934, Donald Duck went on to become a super star in his own right.
Despite being ever infuriated with the trivial things in life, and perpetually harassed by the naughty duo Chip 'n' Dale, Donald is loveable and sweet. His heart belongs to the love of his life, the equally hot tempered Daisy Duck.
In our usual Character Central style, below is a photo cavalcade of some of our favourite moments with Donald at the Disney Parks and Resorts around the world.
Happy 79th Birthday Donald Duck!

Hello everyone,
Today is the 15th anniversary of the grand opening of Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park at the Walt Disney World Resort.
Set in the most lush and natural surroundings of any Disney Park (and probably any theme park!), Disney's Animal Kingdom is dedicated to the preservation of life, and researching new ways of saving the animal kingdom from extinction.
At it's centre and carved with over 300 animals, is the magnificent Tree of Life, which towers above the park.
From the trails, animal habitats, and of course the mind blowing Kilimanjaro Safaris, Disney's Animal Kingdom is incomparable in concept, design, and sheer beauty.
Happy 15th birthday Animal Kingdom!
By no coincidence, April 22nd is also Earth Day. Earth Day celebrates the diversity and beauty of the only known planet to support the ecosystems and life that is found here. Earth Day spreads the important message that we all need to do our bit for the planet through research and conservation, we can all hope to reach the goal of sustaining a better future for every living creature on this beautiful little blue and green world.
Happy Earth Day everyone!
The picture cavalcade below is all from Disney's Animal Kingdom, but of course matches both themes appropriately.
If you're at Disney's Animal Kingdom this week, why not check out their special combined birthday and Earth Day celebrations, 'Party for the Planet', which includes some cool character happenings! (The official LTM website has more information here.)

Hello everyone,
Today is the 30th anniversary of the opening of Tokyo Disneyland at Tokyo Disney Resort in Japan.
Often billed as the most successful theme park of all time, it was Disney's first theme park venture outside of the United States.
We have been fortunate enough to visit Tokyo Disneyland (and the rest of the resort of course), a few times, most recently in October 2012 for Halloween. We will also be back again in just a couple of weeks, to check out all the 30th anniversary offerings!
So, in our usual Character Central celebratory style, here's a photo cavalcade from our adventures there!

Hello everyone,
Today is the 21st anniversary of the grand opening of Disneyland Paris' main theme park!
Often described as the most beautiful of all the Magic Kingdom style parks, I can't say I disagree! From the gorgeous Sleeping Beauty Castle, to the incredible detail in every land, attraction, boutique and restaurant, Parc Disneyland at Disneyland Paris is stunning.
I could talk all day about all it's magical experiences and wonders, but I think by now many of you have read my blogs, and seen enough online - or even been there - to know what a truly breathtaking place it is, so, in my usual tribute style, I'm going to post some of Character Central' pictures below, for your enjoyment!

Hello everyone,
On this day in 1943 the loveable but ever mischievous chipmunks, Chip and Dale, made their debut in 'Private Pluto'.
Always getting into some sort of trouble, Chip and Dale like to harass the likes of poor Donald Duck, and Pluto.
Despite their naughty nature, they are fun loving, adventurous (Rescue Rangers!) and simply adorable.
Of course, no Character Central tribute would be complete without our usual photo cavalcade! So, here are some of my favourite pictures from our adventures with Chip and Dale over the years.
Happy 70th Birthday Chip and Dale!
