We begin today's news with Halloween at Disneyland Paris. According to a friend of mine (who has many contacts), this year Disneyland Paris will not feature the Pumpkin People or the Halloween post/pre parade! I am not sure how accurate this is, because at very least the post/pre parade has always been a popular staple of the Halloween offerings at the park. I will be very surprised if they do actually go forward with this.
Last week I also mentioned that there were two new shows coming for Halloween this year at DLP; one involving Maleficent and Dr Facilier at the Hub Stage, and the other featuring Mickey and Friends at the Castle Stage. Today I was on the DLP website, and noticed that they have put up some very small pieces of information already. Now, they don't tell us anything we don't already know about the shows, but they do have a very small picture each - and that is what is interesting. The Maleficent show depicts Maleficent, the Queen of Hearts, Jafar, Cruella, Hook and the Witch. Dr Facilier appears to be holding some sort of skeletal guitar. Although a small image, I hope that the show features all these characters and is as neat as it looks! The other show - the interactive show at the Castle Stage - also has a small picture. This confirms a rumour I heard about the Big 8 getting new Halloween outfits this year - the outfits in the picture are like the old California ones! Skeleton Goofy, Pumpkin Donald, and Mickey and Minnie in the black and orange outfits which were last seen in California in 2009 I believe.
Staying with Halloween, but over in Hong Kong Disneyland, their official press release announces the arrival of the Headless Horseman this year - the first time he will ever feature outside of the Magic Kingdom in Florida. He will apparently feature in some sort of show/ entertainment offering in Adventureland, as well as ride at the start of their neat Glow in the Dark Parade, much like he does at the start of Boo To You.
Moving forward to Christmas now, and going back to Disneyland Paris, we hear from InsideDLP that the Hub Stage will see the return of the Once Upon a Time Sleeping Beauty (which used to play at the Sword in the Stone in Fantasyland). There will be some changes though (of course the location being one), including the Three Good Fairies joining the cast - but as face characters! This is still somewhat unconfirmed, so we'll see what happens, but hopefully this will happen.
Finally, be sure to check out Loren's weekend report from Disneyland California, including some special appearances by Star Wars characters!
Ok, that's all for now,
