Which DLP Hotel?

Hi all,

So this week I got asked by someone:

I have been to Disneyland Paris only once before, but I stayed in Paris and just took buses (coaches) back and forth. This time I plan to stay at the DLPR. I am familiar with the hotels there - obviously the gorgeous Disneyland Hotel at the park entrance, but for a short trip alone, that is out of budget. As for the other hotels, is there a particular one you would recommend? How do they compare to the hotels at WDW or DL? - Rob

This was my answer:

For a short trip, probably the Santa Fe or the Cheyenne would be best. I personally would go with the Cheyenne. The hotels are a lot more basic compared to the ones in the US, especially Florida, but you have to just accept that there are some cultural differences when it comes to what people expect from a hotel. All too often I hear people complaining, for example, that there is no pool or bell service... well if I'm at Disney and I've travelled thousands of miles, bell service is the least of my worries... a pool, while I can see that some people would want that, is also not my thing - so the DLP hotels work out great for me!!! You of course may want those things, in which case you might need the higher class hotels, but if you intend on just hitting the parks and not spending much time in the hotel, then the Cheyenne would be perfect.
The biggest advantages of the DLP hotels are that they all include breakfast in the hotel, and normally one in the park also. There are character meet and greets at the hotels every morning too, unlike the US hotels, and the characters are normally in really neat themed outfits (cowboys and Native American style at the Cheyenne for example).

Here is a link to the Cheyenne's page on this site.

If you're looking for something a bit higher quality than what the Cheyenne looks, the next one up would be the Sequioa Lodge. I love that hotel - it is my favourite Disney hotel. But of course the price jumps along with the quality.

I hope that helps people!

Dan :)
