Hi all, So today sees the debut of a number of new character happenings at Disney's Hollywood Studios at the Walt Disney World Resort. Minnie, Chip, Dale, Donald, Daisy, Pluto and Goofy all have got brand new outfits and meeting locations around the Hat. New starry backdrops have been installed, and the characters have finally been given themed Studios outfits after years of neglect. Our good friend Paul has posted some pictures here (note, you may need to scroll down if there are newer posts).  [ Read More... ] |

Hi all, After a slow week with character news, I have some small updates for you. Starting with Hollywood Studios at WDW, according to Studios Central the "new" parade that we announced here on the blog recently, has a name! The PIXAR Pals Cavalcade will use music mixed from the PIXAR Play Parade at California Adventure, and debuts on January 16th 2011. Block Party Bash ends on January 1st, and it is expected that most of the current floats will be recycled.  [ Read More... ] |

Hi all, So there has been a lot of new Character news over the last couple of days, all in Florida strangely enough! The Muppet Pre-Parade will end on the 2nd October this year. As a reminder, as I reported previously, Block Party Bash is ending on the 1st January 2011, and being replaced with a "new" parade from January 14th. It is expected that the performers and Green Army men will be removed, and other PIXAR characters added. A new soundtrack and couple of other changes will mean that this is basically be the same parade, with no show stops.  [ Read More... ] |

Hi all, It has been reported by magicforum that Disneyland Paris is to get another new celebration year in 2011, titled Magical Moments Festival. This will involve another brand new Castle show that, much to my excitement, will feature Sorcerer Mickey. Up until now Sorcerer Mickey has only ever made very rare appearances at special ticketed events. Other new things for the new Festival include the new princess meet 'n' greet location at the "it's a small world" post show building, that I reported on previously, and probably the biggest news of all, the addition of Mickey's house!  [ Read More... ] |

Hi everyone, In this part I shall talk about the Resort's theming and layout, and our overall impressions. First off, I just want to say that despite me previously saying I would make part three the final part, after writing it, I think we shall have to have a couple more instalments! When I was writing it got incredibly long, and I do not want to lose people’s interest. So this is part three of, probably five - but we’ll see how it goes! If you want to catch up or re-read the previous reports, Part One can be read here, and Part Two can be read here.  [ Read More... ] |

Hi all! So here we are finally at part two of the trip report for Tokyo! In Part One I discussed the Japanese obsession with all things small, cute and Disney, and how it affects their behaviour in the parks. I am going to move on now to the other peculiarities of the Japanese Resort, including the strict regime and rules. Japan for the most part runs on time. It is efficient and consistent in most areas including opening hours and public transport. This comes through at the Disney Parks too, but at a cost.  [ Read More... ] |
