An Update During Strange Times
DisneyDan  Thursday, April 23, 2020 10:37:10 AM
Hello everyone,

Well, it has been a while since I updated on the blog, but our long-time followers will no doubt have noticed that I continue to update content across the website, adding new locations, characters, outfits, and other items on a fairly regular basis. Sometimes this content is older stuff that I came across in our archives that never got added for whatever reason, and sometimes it's more recent things that I am gradually working through.

As for blog posts, well, as I have said numerous times in the past, the vast volume of content we have on Character Central speaks for itself. We never really intended to be a news site, and I find it easier to post more in-the-minute/live updates to our social media pages, such as Instagram and Facebook, rather than having to worry about blogging about it constantly. I actually post everyday, where possible, to both Instagram and Facebook, either an actual post or a themed story of some kind. There are a lot of other sites out there that dedicate themselves to the latest up-to-the-minute news, and they are easy enough to find. I pride myself in being able to offer a diverse archive of content from the parks around the world that is maintained, rather than letting all our followers know something they can easily read somewhere else.

So, we're still here. I'm still adding more things, always updating and changing pages, moving things around.

I am glad you're all still with us after 10+ years. We appreciate your passion for our work, and look forward to bringing you all more and more content once the parks reopen again from this current crisis.

Be safe, stay well, and we'll see you all once we're allowed back "home" again - hopefully sooner rather than later.

Magically yours,

Dan.

REVIEW - Storybook Dining at Artist Point with Snow White
DisneyDan  Thursday, June 6, 2019 7:09:06 AM
Hello everyone,

We recently dined at Artist Point for the first time to try the (relatively) new Storybook Dining with Snow White at Wilderness Lodge.

Wilderness Lodge is located on the southern shore of Bay Lake, southeast of the Magic Kingdom. You can get to Wilderness Lodge by bus from Epcot, Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom, or boat from the Magic Kingdom.

The restaurant is just off of the main lobby, to the northwest side of the building. Because of the way that Wilderness Lodge is built, although the restaurant is on the main/"ground" level, there are some pretty good views out towards Bay Lake.

The menu is a set price format, and you choose from a selection of set items. The cost is $55 per adult, plus tax and tip. Annual Passholders can get 10% off, making the the price $49.50, plus tax and tip. No drinks are included, and are at an additional cost.

Star Wars Dark Side Half Marathon Weekend, April 2017 - A Report
DisneyDan  Friday, May 19, 2017 2:31:39 PM
Hello everyone,

Last month (April 2017), Jon and I took part in our second runDisney weekend, the Star Wars Dark Side Half Marathon Weekend at Walt Disney World. Followers of my blog will know that in February we participated in our very first ever runDisney event at the Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend. Well, here we were, two months later, ready to do it all over again for the Empire!

I won't repeat everything I said in my first Princess blog about our impressions of runDisney, training, organisation of the event, impressions, etc, as many of those aspects were very similar this time, but needless to say, we were exceptionally proud of ourselves for being able to achieve not just one half marathon weekend, but now two in the space of two months!

As per the usual setup with the runDisney events, we went along on the Thursday before the race weekend to collect our bibs and merchandise at the health expo, at ESPN. The setup was virtually identical to the Princess Half expo, down to the bib collection areas, the vendor booths and show area, and the official race store.

Bon Voyage Adventure Breakfast Dining Review, April 2017
DisneyDan  Tuesday, May 2, 2017 2:07:48 PM
Hello everyone,

A couple of weeks ago we dined at Trattoria al Forno at Disney's Boardwalk (Walt Disney World) to try the new Bon Voyage Adventure Breakfast character dining experience. You do not need to enter the Boardwalk resort hotel in order to access the restaurant; it is located along the Boardwalk area itself, and not within the hotel.

For those who like to know these things, for planning purposes or whatever, we had a 7.45am reservation. Our reservation was on a Saturday, and it seemed to be fairly quiet at that time.

Disneyland Resort Photo Trip Report, April 2015 - including Springtime Roundup and much more!
DisneyDan  Monday, April 13, 2015 10:54:46 AM
Hello everyone,

At the start of April Jon and I spent nine full days in the Happiest Place on Earth, Disneyland Resort in California.

I'm going to break this report down into themed areas of the parks, as we did so much in nine days, it's actually easier to group things together to ensure I don't forget, or even repeat anything.

You should be warned that this report is very photo-heavy, so if you have a slow connection you may want to save it for later.

NEWS! Spider-Man to debut at Disneyland Paris in April!
DisneyDan  Saturday, March 22, 2014 12:13:03 PM
Hello everyone,

Today various French Disney fan sites are reporting rather conclusively that the long rumoured Spider-Man will finally start greeting fans at the Walt Disney Studios Park (at DLP) from Saturday 19th April! He will be located next to the Blockbuster Cafe in the Backlot.

Quite by chance, Jon and I will be there that day, and are really excited at the prospect of being among the first to meet him! We have no doubt that we will be at the park gates bright and early, and will go directly to his greeting location at park open!

Of course, we have previously met Spider-Man at Universal's Islands of Adventure in Orlando, FL, even since the Disney purchase of Marvel. We could argue that in that respect, we have met him, as he was technically Disney when we met him... But of course it's exciting nonetheless to be finally be able to meet him at a Disney Park!

This is, as always, subject to change, and who knows, perhaps he'll show up even before the 19th. Whichever way it works, we'll be there at the earliest opportunity to meet him!

Have a great weekend everyone,

Dan.

Below are some pictures of when we met Spider-Man at Universal's Islands of Adventure.
