Hi all, We are now getting back into our regular schedules following our whistle-stop trip to DLP this past weekend. We had a good time as always, but sadly on Saturday evening things didn't quite go to plan for one reason or another, and it resulted in us making a very serious formal complaint at City Hall. It is the first time I have ever had to do so at any park (I don't just mean minor issues here and there, this was quite serious), but I have to say that despite the fact I had to make the complaint, we were seen to by the Cast Members at City Hall with care and respect, and we thank them greatly for the efforts to compensate us for our grievance. In fact, I think you'll be surprised to learn that they managed not only to give us a free pin of our choice each from the stores, but we actually got a private meet 'n' greet with our four favourite characters in a back room of City Hall, the following day! They managed to arrange for us to meet Peter Pan, Stitch and Chip and Dale (who were in their Frontierland Native American outfits no less)!  [ Read More... ] |

Hi all, Just two small things today. First off we have heard that Angelica is due to leave the Magic Kingdom at WDW on the 20th August. She will remain in California and Tokyo for the time being, but for how much longer is not yet known. Secondly, Jon and I are off to Disneyland Paris for the weekend this evening and so will not be back at our desks until Monday evening. We hope to meet lots of random and cool characters of course, and will post an update when we return. In the meantime be sure to come back and check out part five of my Hong Kong Disneyland trip report which I posted earlier.
Have a good weekend everyone,
Dan.

Hi all, Welcome to part five of my HKDL trip report.
In this section we move onto Tomorrowland.
I know you probably think I sound like a cracked record by now, but I'll say it anyway! Like the rest of the park Tomorrowland has some really good features, but definitely needs more. It has just five attractions, two restaurants and two minuscule stores. This is compared to say the Magic Kingdom that has eight, two and three respectively (you could even count the Lunching Pad which would make three restaurants).
Let us begin with the overall look and feel of Tomorrowland.  [ Read More... ] |

Hi all, Sorry there haven't been many updates this week, but I have just been so busy.Let us begin in Florida, where last week saw Suzy and Perla make a surprise appearance in the courtyard area behind Cinderella Castle. Apart from the meal they host at the grossly overpriced and massively overbooked restaurant in the castle, Suzy and Perla are near impossible to find in the US. Over at Hollywood Studios Agent P (AKA Perry the Platypus) met fans this weekend alongside Phineas and Ferb. No word yet as to whether this will become a more regular thing - we only hope it will.  [ Read More... ] |

Hi all,
Next up on my tour around HKDL is Fantasyland.
From Adventureland you can enter Fantasyland from near the Liki Tikis and the drumming area.
Alternatively you can go back to the hub and wall through the Castle or via the parade route to the right.
Fantasyland in HK like the whole park is in need of more.
Overall it is a pretty land and has some good attractions, but it does lack a lot.
I would say in terms of design and theming it is better than the Magic Kingdom (once the expansion is done this statement will no doubt change), and it is certainly far better than the miserable Fantasyland in Tokyo!  [ Read More... ] |

Hi all,
Welcome to part three of my Hong Kong Disneyland Trip Report.
In this part we venture into the jungles of Adventureland to see what it has to offer.
You approach Adventureland on the left hand side of the Hub much the same way you would at all the other Magic Kingdom style parks.
Adventureland in Hong Kong is the sole land on the left hand side of the park. No Frontierland, no Critter Country… Just Adventureland.
You enter under a sign that is similar to the one in Florida and Tokyo, find yourself in an area completely surrounded by trees and vegetation. Adventureland in HKDL takes a lot of its inspiration from DLP’s Adventureland with the tree filled more intimate and winding walkways.  [ Read More... ] |

Hi all, This week sees the launch of Tinker Bell and her friend's brand new home in Adventureland in the Magic Kingdom. After spending quite some time in a rather uninspiring location in EPCOT, the Fairies have now moved into the neat looking Magical Nook at the old Adventureland Veranda. With props from the old Pixie Hollow, and some new things thrown in, Tinker Bell is joined by either Rosetta or Vidia currently on a continuous basis as she used to be, before she left for EPCOT. Inside the Magic posted this really lovely video of the new location. We hope that the other Fairies rejoin her real soon.  [ Read More... ] |

Hi all,
Welcome to part two of my Hong Kong Disneyland trip report.
In the previous part I talked about arriving in HK, our impressions, breakfast at the Enchanted Garden, and our first impressions of HK DL.
We begin our tour of the park where it always begins in the Magic Kingdoms, on Main Street USA.
Just like the other parks (except Tokyo) HK DL's main entrance sports a train station. It looks almost identical to the California one, except some of the roof tiles and other small cosmetic differences; but for all intents and purposes is the same.  [ Read More... ] |

Hi all,
With the Hong Kong trip this last week, Jon and I have now been to every Disney Park - not to mention every park in the last year!
With the addition of HK DL to our list now, we have a rather unique claim to make.  [ Read More... ] |

Hi all,
So as you know I don't tend to write trip reports anymore, simply because we visit the US and Paris parks so often it just seems silly. I also report all the time about them on the blog, and the site has such extensive information and photos from our trips to those places, I just don't bother now. But, time to time something exceptional happens, such as Tokyo last year, and I feel that I have to write about it in more depth.
This year it is the turn of Hong Kong Disneyland, which we visited for the very first time this week.
Last Saturday Jon, Loren and I all made our ways to our respective home city airports to begin an amazing four day adventure in Hong Kong, which initially included two days in Hong Kong Disneyland (ended up being one whole day and two half days, but I'll explain later).  [ Read More... ] |
